Product Notes
TASTING NOTES: Classic varietal character with typical aromas of blackcurrants, pencil shavings and freshly cut herbs. A well-rounded wine showing great accessibility with a juicy fruit core and fresh acidity. The tannins add a grainy texture, and the wine lingers on the finish with beautiful flavours of blue berries and subtle oak spice.
VINIFICATION: 3 to 5 days on the skins in open fermenters at 28°C. The cap was punched down manually every 2 hours. MATURATION: Matured for 12 months in French oak.
FOOD PAIRING: A great accompaniment to barbequed meat, beef casseroles, steak, biltong and mature cheese.
AGEING POTENTIAL: This wine will keep developing in the bottle for the next 5 - 7 years.
