Timo Mayer only makes a tiny amount of Syrah each year.

The majority of the Mayer vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir but a small amount of Syrah makes an appearance on the upper reaches of the Hill. He makes the Syrah in the same way as his charismatic Doktor Mayer Pinot Noir with 100% whole bunches during ferment.

In this part of the Yarra it is possible to make sublime Syrah. Timo's is ethereal, ferrous and a little mysterious, an excellent example of the variety's potential in the region.

Lovers of spicy, detailed Syrah with power and structure - you'll want to try this... But you'll need to be quick.
